Prayer Need!

Hey guys, we really need your prayers today. Our student who is still waiting for her visa has used up her time in Switzerland and is now in England trying to apply for her Bosnian visa at the Embassy there. (Ukraine doesn't have a Bosnian Embassy otherwise she would be here with us trying to apply.) The Bosnian Embassy in England said they would give her the multi-entry visa that she needs but there is still one more hurdle. What it comes down to is that we need immense favor and understanding from the official that she is going to see. I think if she were still in Switzerland it would have been issued by now because that official has seen the ordeal that she has gone though, but now we are starting from scratch with someone new. We really, really would appreciate your prayers, and hopefully I'll be able to update again tomorrow.

Next week the World Economic Forum will descend on our tiny mountain village. People across the specturm from: Kofi Annan, Saudi Prince Al Saud, British Prime Minister David Cameron, all the way to people like Bono and Matt Damon will come to discuss how to pull the world out of a crisis-fear driven cycle of functioning. Our students will be taking to the streets!  Please be in prayer for them as you never know whose path they might cross!

I wanted to post this at the one year mark but life was in a bit of an upheaval at the time.  The previous August we had wanted to kick off our time in ministry with prayer and asked many of you to join us when we posted 'An invitation to join us in prayer,' and many of you did.

 This list still hangs in our office.

God has been good and answered several of these already.  Not only did we get the projects done on our house, it was only on the market for 2 months and closed in 3 weeks!

I know that when people ask me to pray, I do, and I like to know what has become of those prayers. So I wanted to let you know that God has heard your prayers and to say thank you for coming along side of our family as we move overseas and start a life in ministry.

Update on Switzerland

This morning we had a chat on Skype with the director of the Davos school.  He's received our applications but hasn't had a chance to look them over.  You see, it's just him and his wife right now and they are dealing with some major visa issues regarding incoming staff and students.  We learned that Switzerland has some very strict visa requirements and the way YWAM operates does not fit neatly into those requirements.  He is currently working with local officials to get something worked out so that people (like us) can join staff for extended periods of time.  He didn't really have any answers for us as far as the cut and dry, yes you can join staff, answer I think me and Adam were hoping for but the whole conversation left us feeling very encouraged.  Some things he did say were that he and his wife were praying for additional staff and then they got our e-mail and were very encouraged.  He also said that he was happy that we are looking to come next June because that gives him time to get the visa issue worked out to do it the right way instead of pushing our way through and dealing with the repercussions later.  Right now the whole visa issue is in the officials hands, aka it's time to fast and pray and watch God do some amazing stuff.  We all agreed that we would pick up the conversation again in two to three weeks and see what is going on then.  So that's what's going on.  Right now our joining staff hinges on being able to get into the country.  Minor speed bump.  We would definitely appreciate your prayer about this.  We'll let you know what happens.

An invitation to join us in prayer.

    Thank you for your interest in joining us in prayer!  We've been on quite an adventure the past few years.  In 2007 Adam and I did a Discipleship Training School (dts) with Youth With a Mission (YWAM), Denver. During this school we had the pleasure of being a part of an absolutely amazing outreach team in Eastern Europe.  We spent time in Romania, Bosnia and Hungry.  It was the first time in our lives that we had ever felt like we were in the right place at the right time doing exactly what we were made to do.  It didn't matter whether it was spending Adam's birthday in a garbage dump gypsy village or picking rocks out of the ground at an orphanage so the kids would have a place to play.  The work we were doing made us come alive in a way we have never experienced!  Neither before or since that time have we been so completely satisfied with the work of our hands. To be truly satisfied with the work of your hands, what a blessing!

     Shortly after Remy was born in 2009 we moved back to Pennsylvania with the intentions of going into missions full time.  We finally feel the time is right for our family to make the move.  On Saturday, August 27th,  Adam and I will be spending the day in worship and prayer to kick off our new adventure.  We would consider it an honor if you would come along side us in prayer that day.  We're asking that you would take some time out of your day to spend with God, mostly just praising Him and giving thanks for the blessings in your life but also to pray on our behalf as well.  As exciting as the future may seem to us, it also comes with much trepidation. The reality of the situation is that we're looking to move our children away from a family they love dearly, to a place we've never been, to do work that some may consider scandalous.  I'm sure you can see why Adam and I are asking for as much prayer as possible!  These are the things we are asking the Lord for:

• Application being accepted


• A solid support team


• Any debts we have being paid off


• Extended stay visas


• The kids adjusting well


• Money to move


• A place to live


• Smooth transition


• Proper health and life insurance (insurance is compulsory in Switzerland)


• Getting all of the projects done on our house before we go


• Money and opportunity to visit this winter.
